Core i5-11400H vs Core i7-1365U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-11400H beats the Core i7-1365U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-1365U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-1365U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i5-11400H that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-11400H has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1365U. Despite this, the Core i7-1365U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-11400H has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i7-1365U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11400H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
