Core i5-11400H vs Core i7-1260P benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-1260P performs better than the Core i5-11400H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-11400H in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-1260P has significantly more cores than the Core i5-11400H. Indeed, the Core i7-1260P has 12 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-11400H. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11400H. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-11400H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1260P. Despite this, the Core i7-1260P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1260P outputs less heat than Core i5-11400H thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-11400H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-1260P. Despite this, the Core i7-1260P has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-11400H.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-11400H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
