Core i5-11400H vs Core i5-13420H benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-11400H beats the Core i5-13420H in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-13420H in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-13420H has slightly more cores than the Core i5-11400H. Indeed, the Core i5-13420H has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-11400H. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-11400H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-13420H. Despite this, the Core i5-13420H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i5-11400H has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-13420H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-11400H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
