Core i5-11400H vs Core i5-1335U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-11400H beats the Core i5-1335U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-1335U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-1335U has significantly more cores than the Core i5-11400H. Indeed, the Core i5-1335U has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-11400H. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-11400H has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-1335U. Despite this, the Core i5-1335U has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i5-11400H has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-1335U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11400H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
