Core i5-11400H vs Core i5-12450HX benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-12450HX is faster than the Core i5-11400H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-11400H in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-12450HX has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-11400H that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-11400H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-12450HX. Also, the Core i5-11400H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-11400H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-12450HX CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-11400H has more L2 cache than the Core i5-12450HX. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-11400H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
