Core i5-11400 vs FX-8350 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-11400 is faster than the FX-8350. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8350 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-11400 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the FX-8350 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8350. Our comparison shows that the FX-8350 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-11400. Despite this, the Core i5-11400 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-11400 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8350 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8350 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-11400. Despite this, the Core i5-11400 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-8350.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
