Core i5-11400 vs FX-8320E benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-11400 beats the FX-8320E in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8320E in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-11400 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the FX-8320E has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8320E. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-11400 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-8320E. A Core i5-11400 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320E CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-11400 has significantly more L2 cache than the FX-8320E. The Core i5-11400 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
