Core i5-11400 vs Core i7-6700K benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-11400 is faster than the Core i7-6700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-6700K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-11400 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i7-6700K has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-6700K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-6700K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-11400. Despite this, the Core i5-11400 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-11400 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-6700K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-11400 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-6700K. The Core i5-11400 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-11400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
