Core i5-11400 vs Core i7-13620H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-13620H is faster than the Core i5-11400. Despite this, the Core i5-11400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-13620H has significantly more cores than the Core i5-11400. Indeed, the Core i7-13620H has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-11400. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11400. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-11400 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-13620H. Despite this, the Core i7-13620H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-13620H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-11400. The Core i7-13620H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
