Core i5-10600K vs Core i5-12450H comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-10600K is faster than the Core i5-12450H. Despite this, the Core i5-12450H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-12450H has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-10600K that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-10600K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-12450H. Also, the Core i5-10600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12450H outputs less heat than Core i5-10600K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-12450H has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-10600K. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-10600K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
