Core i5-10500 vs Core i7-9700KF comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9700KF performs better than the Core i5-10500. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-10500 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700KF has slightly more cores than the Core i5-10500. Indeed, the Core i7-9700KF has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-10500. Despite this, the Core i5-10500 has more threads than the Core i7-9700KF. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700KF has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-10500. Also, the Core i7-9700KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-10500 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-9700KF CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-9700KF has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-10500. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-10500 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
