Core i5-10400F vs FX-9590 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-10400F is faster than the FX-9590. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-9590 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-10400F has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the FX-9590 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-9590. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-9590 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-10400F. A Core i5-10400F CPU outputs less heat than a FX-9590 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-9590 has more L2 cache than the Core i5-10400F. Despite this, the Core i5-10400F has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-9590.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-10400F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
