Core i5-10400F vs Core i5-12450H specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-12450H beats the Core i5-10400F in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-10400F in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-12450H has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-10400F has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-10400F has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12450H. Despite this, the Core i5-12450H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12450H outputs less heat than Core i5-10400F thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-12450H has more L2 cache than the Core i5-10400F. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-10400F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
