Core i5-10300H vs Ryzen 5 9600X specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 9600X beats the Core i5-10300H in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-10300H in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 9600X has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i5-10300H that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-10300H. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 9600X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-10300H. Also, the Ryzen 5 9600X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-10300H CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 5 9600X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 9600X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-10300H. The Ryzen 5 9600X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-10300H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
