Core i5-10300H vs FX-6300 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Core i5-10300H beats the FX-6300 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6300 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-10300H has slightly more cores than the FX-6300. Indeed, the Core i5-10300H has 4 cores compared to 3 cores found in the FX-6300. It also has more threads than the FX-6300. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-6300 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-10300H. Despite this, the Core i5-10300H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-10300H CPU outputs less heat than a FX-6300 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-6300 has more L2 cache than the Core i5-10300H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-10300H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
