Core i5-10210U vs Xeon E5-520 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-10210U beats the Xeon E5-520 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-520 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i5-10210U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-520 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-10210U. Despite this, the Core i5-10210U has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-10210U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-520 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Xeon E5-520 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-10210U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
