Core i5-10210U vs Core i7-4700MQ benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-10210U performs better than the Core i7-4700MQ. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-4700MQ in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-4700MQ has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-10210U. Despite this, the Core i5-10210U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-10210U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-4700MQ CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-10210U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-4700MQ. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-10210U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
