Core i3-N305 vs Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U is faster than the Core i3-N305. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-N305 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-N305 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-N305. Despite this, the Core i3-N305 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-N305 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U. The Core i3-N305 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i3-N305 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
