Core i3-9100F vs Xeon E5-2660 v3 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2660 v3 beats the Core i3-9100F in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i3-9100F has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2660 v3 has significantly more cores than the Core i3-9100F. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2660 v3 has 10 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i3-9100F. It also has more threads than the Core i3-9100F. Our comparison shows that the Core i3-9100F has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2660 v3. Also, the Core i3-9100F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i3-9100F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2660 v3 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i3-9100F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
