Core i3-9100F vs Ryzen 5 5600 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 5600 beats the Core i3-9100F in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-9100F in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 5600 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i3-9100F that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-9100F. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-9100F has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 5600. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 5600 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 5600 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-9100F. The Ryzen 5 5600 also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i3-9100F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
