Core i3-9100F vs FX-9590 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the FX-9590 performs better than the Core i3-9100F. Despite this, the Core i3-9100F has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the FX-9590 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-9590 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i3-9100F. A Core i3-9100F CPU outputs less heat than a FX-9590 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-9590 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-9100F. The FX-9590 also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i3-9100F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
