Core i3-9100 vs Xeon E5-1620 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-9100 is faster than the Xeon E5-1620. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-1620 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-1620 has more threads. Both the Core i3-9100 and Xeon E5-1620 have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Core i3-9100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i3-9100 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1620 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i3-9100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
