Core i3-9100 vs Xeon E3-1270 V2 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-9100 performs better than the Xeon E3-1270 V2. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E3-1270 V2 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon E3-1270 V2 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i3-9100 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E3-1270 V2. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Xeon E3-1270 V2 also has slightly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i3-9100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
