Core i3-9100 vs FX-4100 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-9100 is faster than the FX-4100. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-4100 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i3-9100 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the FX-4100 has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. According to our data, the Core i3-9100 and FX-4100 have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Core i3-9100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i3-9100 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-4100 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-4100 has more L2 cache than the Core i3-9100. The FX-4100 also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i3-9100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
