Core i3-8350K vs Xeon E5-1650 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-1650 beats the Core i3-8350K in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i3-8350K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-1650 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i3-8350K that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-8350K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8350K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-1650. A Core i3-8350K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1650 CPU because of its much lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i3-8350K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
