Core i3-8350K vs Xeon E3-1240 v3 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1240 v3 is faster than the Core i3-8350K. Despite this, the Core i3-8350K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon E3-1240 v3 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8350K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1240 v3. The Xeon E3-1240 v3 outputs less heat than Core i3-8350K thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i3-8350K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
