Core i3-8350K vs Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G beats the Core i3-8350K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-8350K in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8350K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-8350K. Despite this, the Core i3-8350K has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i3-8350K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
