Core i3-8350K vs Core i5-8300H specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-8300H is faster than the Core i3-8350K. Despite this, the Core i3-8350K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i5-8300H has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8350K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-8300H. The Core i5-8300H outputs less heat than Core i3-8350K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Core i5-8300H also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i3-8350K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
