Core i3-8300 vs Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-8300 is faster than the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8300 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G. A Core i3-8300 CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-8300. Despite this, the Core i3-8300 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i3-8300 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
