Core i3-8130U vs FX-4300 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i3-8130U beats the FX-4300 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-4300 in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-4300 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-8130U. A Core i3-8130U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-4300 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-4300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-8130U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i3-8130U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
