Core i3-8130U vs A8-9600 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A8-9600 is faster than the Core i3-8130U. Despite this, the Core i3-8130U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the A8-9600 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i3-8130U has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A8-9600 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i3-8130U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Core i3-8130U CPU outputs less heat than a A8-9600 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A8-9600 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-8130U

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i3-8130U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
