Core i3-8130U vs A8-6500 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i3-8130U beats the A8-6500 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A8-6500 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A8-6500 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-8130U. Also, the A8-6500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i3-8130U CPU outputs less heat than a A8-6500 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the A8-6500 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-8130U

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i3-8130U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
