Core i3-8109U vs Celeron G3930 benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i3-8109U beats the Celeron G3930 in overall performance. Despite this, the Celeron G3930 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i3-8109U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8109U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Celeron G3930. A Core i3-8109U CPU outputs less heat than a Celeron G3930 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i3-8109U also has significantly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i3-8109U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
