Core i3-8100T vs Xeon E5-2643 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2643 performs better than the Core i3-8100T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-8100T in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-2643 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2643 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-8100T. A Core i3-8100T CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2643 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i3-8100T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
