Core i3-8100T vs Core i7-4810MQ comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-8100T performs better than the Core i7-4810MQ. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-4810MQ in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i3-8100T has slightly more cores than the Core i7-4810MQ. Indeed, the Core i3-8100T has 4 cores compared to 3 cores found in the Core i7-4810MQ. Despite this, the Core i7-4810MQ has more threads than the Core i3-8100T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-8100T has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-4810MQ. A Core i3-8100T CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-4810MQ CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i3-8100T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
