Core i3-8100 vs Xeon E5-2650 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2650 performs better than the Core i3-8100. Despite this, the Core i3-8100 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2650 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i3-8100 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-8100. Our comparison shows that the Core i3-8100 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2650. Also, the Core i3-8100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i3-8100 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2650 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP.
