Core i3-8100 vs Xeon E3-1270 V2 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1270 V2 is faster than the Core i3-8100. Despite this, the Core i3-8100 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E3-1270 V2 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1270 V2. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Xeon E3-1270 V2 also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i3-8100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
