Core i3-8100 vs Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-8100 is faster than the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G has more L2 cache than the Core i3-8100. Despite this, the Core i3-8100 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i3-8100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
