Core i3-8100 vs Core i5-10210U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-8100 is faster than the Core i5-10210U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-10210U in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i5-10210U has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-8100 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-10210U. Despite this, the Core i5-10210U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-10210U outputs less heat than Core i3-8100 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i3-8100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
