Core i3-7350K vs Xeon E3-1226 v3 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1226 v3 is faster than the Core i3-7350K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-7350K in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E3-1226 v3 has significantly more cores than the Core i3-7350K. Indeed, the Xeon E3-1226 v3 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i3-7350K. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-7350K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E3-1226 v3. A Core i3-7350K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1226 v3 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-7350K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
