Core i3-7130U vs Pentium G645 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i3-7130U beats the Pentium G645 in overall performance. Despite this, the Pentium G645 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i3-7130U has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Pentium G645 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-7130U. A Core i3-7130U CPU outputs less heat than a Pentium G645 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-7130U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
