Core i3-4030U vs Celeron E3500 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i3-4030U beats the Celeron E3500 in overall performance. Despite this, the Celeron E3500 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i3-4030U has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Celeron E3500 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-4030U. A Core i3-4030U CPU outputs less heat than a Celeron E3500 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-4030U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
