Core i3-1215U vs Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-1215U performs better than the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1215U. Also, the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-1215U has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-1215U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-1215U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
