Core i3-1115G4 vs Core i5-1235U comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-1235U is faster than the Core i3-1115G4. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-1115G4 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1235U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i3-1115G4 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-1115G4. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-1115G4 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1235U. Despite this, the Core i5-1235U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-1235U outputs less heat than Core i3-1115G4 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i5-1235U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i3-1115G4 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
