Core i3-10300 vs Core i5-8400 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Core i3-10300 beats the Core i5-8400 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-8400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-8400 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i3-10300 that has 4 cores.
