Core i3-10300 vs Core i3-1315U specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-10300 is faster than the Core i3-1315U. Despite this, the Core i3-1315U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i3-1315U has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i3-10300 has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-10300 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1315U. Despite this, the Core i3-1315U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i3-1315U has more L2 cache than the Core i3-10300. The Core i3-1315U also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-10300 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
