Core i3-10110U vs Core i7-1255U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-1255U beats the Core i3-10110U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-10110U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-1255U has significantly more cores than the Core i3-10110U. Indeed, the Core i7-1255U has 10 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i3-10110U. It also has more threads than the Core i3-10110U. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-10110U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1255U. Despite this, the Core i7-1255U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1255U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-10110U. The Core i7-1255U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-10110U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
