Core i3-10100 vs Xeon E3-1245 v5 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-10100 performs better than the Xeon E3-1245 v5. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E3-1245 v5 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-10100 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E3-1245 v5. Also, the Core i3-10100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i3-10100 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1245 v5 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Xeon E3-1245 v5 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i3-10100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
