Core i3-10100 vs Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G beats the Core i3-10100 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-10100 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i3-10100 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-10100. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-10100. Despite this, the Core i3-10100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-10100. The Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-10100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
