Core i3-10100 vs Ryzen 3 5425U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 5425U beats the Core i3-10100 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-10100 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-10100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 5425U. Also, the Core i3-10100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 3 5425U outputs less heat than Core i3-10100 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5425U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-10100. The Ryzen 3 5425U also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i3-10100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
